Enhancing Additive Designs for Bike Grips using nTopology

Pairing additive manufacturing with nTopology facilitates the creation of unique products and parts not possible through traditional methods. The mechanical engineers at Avid Product Development, a subsidiary of Lubrizol Advanced Materials Inc., have enhanced the functionality and aesthetics of their additive designs with lattice structures and complex surface textures.

3D printing with Lubrizol ESTANE® thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) enables Avid’s mechanical engineers to push the boundaries of design to create a metamaterial more closely simulating a lower durometer TPU. In this Live Session, Connor Reddington and Drew Baggen, Mechanical Engineers at Avid Product Development, will demonstrate how they use nTopology to lattice and create custom surface textures on specific sections of a part.
